Planning and Meetings

To ensure everything is perfect, we’ll meet at least once to handle the legal paperwork before your big day. Whether face-to-face or online, I’m available to meet as often as needed to make sure every detail aligns with your vision.

Marriage Law Basics

To marry in Byron Bay, both parties must be over 18, not currently married, not closely related, and entering the marriage willingly. You’ll need to provide proof of your date and place of birth, as well as evidence of any previous marriages ending.

Timeframes and Bookings

Australian law requires at least one month’s notice before your marriage. Booking your celebrant early is advisable, with most couples securing their celebrant 9 to 18 months in advance. Regardless of nationality, religion, gender, or citizenship, anyone meeting the legal criteria can marry in Byron Bay once they are over 18.
